For Organizations
Walk Around Philadelphia partners with nonprofits, community groups, cultural institutions, faith communities, and mission-driven companies to create meaningful experiences rooted in place, curiosity, and connection.
Walking the city’s edge offers space for reflection, team-building, learning, healing, and discovery — while strengthening relationships within your organization and with the broader region.
Ways to Collaborate
We work with organizations of all sizes to shape experiences that fit your goals, audience, and capacity. Your organization can:
- Host a talk or presentation — sharing stories and lessons from the city’s edge
- Offer a facilitated team or leadership walk — supporting trust, reflection, and collaboration
- Arrange a custom workshop or retreat — combining walking, reflection, and shared learning
- Co-host a public-facing walk or event — inviting your community to join the experience
- Bring a private group into one of our existing programs
- Refer participants who might benefit from the Walk — including youth, language learners, returning citizens, job-seekers, and others
- Develop a place-based partnership — especially at sites along the city’s perimeter
- Volunteer as Trail Angels or community connectors
- Support the Walk through sponsorship or contributions

Referring Participants to the Walk
Organizations can connect participants directly with our existing walking programs if they might benefit from them.
The Walk can support:
- immigrants & language learners — practicing English while connecting to neighbors
- job-seekers & workforce program participants — expanding networks through shared experience
- returning citizens — re-imagining their relationship to the city, including the State Road prison corridor
- healing & recovery communities — grounding in nature, walking, and connection
- youth & young adults — building confidence, awareness, and leadership
- elders — exploring at a thoughtful, supported pace, and learning about the city through virtual programs
We offer stipends for those facing financial hardship and work to ensure the Walk remains welcoming, relational, and accessible.

Why Organizations Walk
Organizations join the Walk for many reasons — and often discover unexpected benefits along the way.
- Team-building & workplace connection
Walking side-by-side (rather than across a table) strengthens trust, communication, and collaboration — helping teams slow down, reflect, and connect in new ways. - Community connection & mission alignment
Experience the city beyond familiar boundaries — deepening understanding of the neighborhoods, landscapes, and stories that shape the region. - Wellness & renewal
Gentle movement, fresh air, and shared presence support mental health, grounding, and resilience. - Equity-centered learning
The perimeter reveals questions about access, infrastructure, environment, and belonging — explored through lived experience rather than lecture. - Shared meaning & purpose
The Walk creates space for conversation, curiosity, and reflection — strengthening both individual and collective purpose.
The Walk meets your organization where it is — offering space for learning, restoration, and relationship-building at a human pace.
